Significance

A new silver-mediated trifluoro­methoxylation of aryl stannanes and arylboronic acids is described. While the aryltin reagents can be used directly, arylboronic acids have to react first with sodium hydroxide in methanol and AgPF6 before they can be used in the trifluoro­methoxylation.
