Background
Paecilomyces lilacinus are ubiquitous saprophytic fungi found in decomposing plants and soil. It rarely contaminates biomaterial but half of all reported infections affect ocular structures [1]. Infection is usually exogenous [2] [3] [4]. Paecilomyces lilacinus often shows multiple resistance to antimycotics [1]. Successful treatment has been reported using voriconazole [5] [6].
