An efficient procedure for the synthesis of some carboacyclic nucleosides via microwave-assisted
Michael addition of various nucleobases to α,β-unsaturated esters in the presence
of tetrabutylammonium bromide (TBAB) and DABCO is described. Using this method, some
pyrimidine and purine nucleobases have been alkylated regioselectively in moderate
to high yields and short reaction time.
