Abstract

Volatile oil from Perovskia abrotanoides Karel. was analyzed by gas–liquid chromatography. Methylcitronellate (25.4 %) and nerol (20.7 %) were found to be the major constituents. Smaller amounts of myrecene (4.2 %), limonene (9.3 %), β–phellandrene (3.1 %), p–cymene (7.6 %), terpinolene (3.3 %), elemol (5.6 %) and elemol acetate (3.1 %), d–α–pinene, camphene, β–pinene, γ–terpinene, α–thujone, β–thujone, geraniol, linalool, caryophyllene and α–humulene were identified. An unidentified alcohol (1.7 %) and an unidentified ester (1.4 %) were isolated from the oil.
