Abstract

The standard of the two botanically related species Strychnos dolichothyrsa and S. urceolata were by means of TLC and HPLC found to have a qualitatively similar alkaloid content.

The presence of bisnor–dihydrotoxiferine and bisnor–C–alkaloid H in S. urceolata could be confirmed with TLC, HPLC, UV and MS, caracurine V with TLC and HPLC.
