Introduction

Minimally invasive surgery has always been driven by the desire to minimize operative trauma while preserving excellent technical standards. Single access surgery is the latest innovation, with the aim of achieving a “scar-less” operation, as the abdominal cavity is accessed only through one incision hidden in the umbilicus [2]. However, working in a straight line through only one incision has distinct ergonomic disadvantages and the question arises which procedures may be suitable or beneficial [5]. For pediatric surgery this discussion has just begun.
