3,4-Dihydro-β-carboline 2-oxide (1) undergoes 1,3-dipolar [3+2] cycloaddition reactions with a variety of dipolarophiles to give the corresponding cycloadducts 2-26′. The regio- and stereoselectivities concerning these cycloaddition reactions are studied.
