Abstract

The lectins from the seeds of five species of the genus Lathyrus (L. hirsutus L., L. ochrus (L.) DC, L. odoratus L., L. silvestris L. et L. tingitanus L.) precipitate various human serum glycoproteins which have been identified by means of specific immunochemical reactions. All these species react with α, 1–antitrypsin, Cls inactivator, ceruloplasmin, haptoglobin, α 2–macroglobulin, hemopexin and the immunoglobulins IgG, IgA and IgM. These results are discused and compared with the previous findings in this field.
