The syntheses of perhalogenated sulfines (R2C=SO) and sulfenes (R2C=SO2) are reported. They are very useful reagents for introducing perhalogenated and especially perfluorinated groups into addition and cycloaddition products, e.g. for obtaining active substances or polymers.
